1HR9

This was the time that I spent running on the treadmill two days ago.  I can be a little neurotic, crazy, insane, ADD these were a few diagnoses that my best friend John would say to me when I would run on the treadmill. He called me these things because I would try to explain to him how my brain works when running on the treadmill. John would always seem to call me at the point of my run when my mind was being twisted about my stopping point thus causing me to take my run-on the treadmill to the cooling down period.

“James, how many miles have you run?” He would ask. What I would respond with was 10, 11 or 12. “Bitch you’re crazy, I would have stopped at 1 mile, and you are trying to figure out when is a good time to stop. You need help.” You see I would insist on stopping only if the timer on the treadmill showed an even number, that was with time spent and numbers of miles ran. Now those number would never really line up evenly per se, but I would finally come to a finish at-the-end of a good song sometimes. Yes, the music that I was listening to on my phone factored into this madness of completing my run as well. It was all a bit looney I can agree with John but I also felt that it was a part of my runners high.

Talking to John during the cool-down period was always nice though. It gave us time to catch up on life. He would and could always make me laugh no not just laugh ROAR with laughter. We would talk about a lot and nothing at all during my forced cool down period. All along while I was still inside my head trying to find even numbers on the keyboard as to when I should stop. He would fill me in on his mom – Kathy. Talk about a boy loving his mother. He was an only child and his mother Kathy had him at 18, so they were more than just mother and son, they were friends.

I remember the first time I met his mother. It was at a gay establishment. We met for cocktails after work. “James my mom is going to meet us for cocktails at the gay bar.” I almost jumped out of my skin. “Your mother is going to do what with us?” I said. You see my mother would not meet me at a gay bar and nor would I had asked her to in those early days of my gay life. I met up with John and his mother already thinking of just how I should behave being all southern and still a bit closeted at the time. I walk into the bar, and there sat John and his mother. He introduces us and all I can remember is that she reminded me of John. She welcomed me, made me feel comfortable without really doing anything at all. We would hang out with his mom several times after that, for dinner, brunch and even Christmas dinners at her place. She was a special kind of mom which explains why she and John were so close she LOVED him and he LOVED her.

My friend John died July 2018. There is no other way to say it than that. It just simplifies it for me however it’s hardly simple. John was a beautiful shining light in my life. I know a lot of people say that so let me try and say it better after all John always told me that I was a writer and GOOD he would say. Knowing John for the past 31 years was like life being pressed up against me reminding me to live, be myself and that light should never be darkened but continuously be drenched with kerosene. That was John and how he lived. John had been living with HIV since 1990. I remember the day that he told me. I said, “John you’re too evil to die so you’ll be here a long time.” He would smile that lips pressed together smile at me and nod his head laughing.  “I don’t know “gurl” we’ll see.”  We did see at 40years old. I took him out for his Birthday. It was a Birthday lunch. “James, can you believe that I am 40? I didn’t think that I would be around this long. I have to start planning for retirement and shit.” He said laughing but being totally serious. I responded with my usual with him. “John you’re too evil to die.”

Thing is John was not evil. I said that for me. Truth is I did not want my friend to be sick I didn’t want him to be HIV-Positive any more than he did. It was my way of coping with his disease. I also hoped that it would help him too. Okay, so I am going to stop right there not because it ended there. John and our friendship lived on for another 7years. I loved this guy. I was there when he got married to the love of his life in 2013. I just unfortunately for me was not there for his death which I found out was just the way he wanted. That selfish bitch! Thankfully I knew him well enough to understand why he wanted it that way.

God, I miss him so much. I miss the phone calls and the stopping by him and his husband’s medical practice in the West Village to say hello and chat. He was a presence in that office, and you knew it. I miss his presence. I miss his eyes, his smile, and his life.

I stopped at 1HR9, and I heard John’s voice in my head – That’s where he resides now. Telling me “Gurl” stop with the ADD shit or you’ll be on that treadmill forever! I laughed at myself and did not make it an even number in honor of John. It doesn’t mean that I will stop like that all the time, but when I don’t and find myself chasing the neurosis of my runner’s mind on the treadmill, John will be there just like I need him to be.

The Gift – Chapter 8

The weather pattern had changed in New York. It was the middle of May, and it was freezing outside. The day started off beautifully it was 79 degrees and then all of a sudden the temperature dropped dramatically to 29 degrees. People on the streets of New York, who had gone out early to work and school and what have you, found themselves without warm jackets and coats. In addition to that, the television news was reporting marked changes in the weather all over the world, and no weather personality or meteorologist could come up with any reason for so drastic a climate change.

New York had also experienced a small earthquake, buildings shook, people were running in the streets, reports were coming in from all over the city. The only severe damage from the earthquake, however, was concentrated in the crossroads of America – “Times Square. The street had split apart. The earthquake ripped it right in the middle. Fortunately, no one was hurt. A New York City cabbie was trying to beat a traffic light just as it was about to turn red. He floored his cab just as the earthquake hit and his cab landed smack dab in the middle of the rip. New Yorkers and tourist who were on the cabbie side where the split in the street had occurred, ran to the cab and pulled the cabbie out of the driver’s seat before the cab completely fell into the rupture on the road.

Everyone was shaken up and freaked out but like typical New Yorkers, everyone was pulling together to try and understand exactly what was going on and why these things were happening.

Phillips friend Sheri arrived at The Port Authority at his request.
She felt a little-annoyed because it was the weekend and that just because he was off on weekends, had he forgotten that she was not. And with the earthquake, the extreme temperature drop and then she stopped and asked herself why she was going off in her head about this. She realized that Phillip had nothing to do with any of this. He just simply asked her to meet him. It must be important! In all the years that they’ve been friends, She hesitates and then continued the thought, must be important!

Sheri made her way through the crowds of people at the Port Authority. She didn’t stop to look at anyone. She was still in that New York head. Look down as you walk and only look up when you are sure you are at your destination. In her case, that meant gate 313. She checked her watch.

“Phillips bus should have been all ready.” She thought to herself.

She looked around the bus waiting area. No Phillip!

She walked over to the schedule board. It said that the bus had arrived at 2:45 she shook her head. That was 10 minutes ago. Where is he?” She whispered to herself.

A crowd of people started walking toward her, thinking that another bus service had just arrived. Without really looking up to acknowledge the crowd of commuters coming her way, she moved off to the side so that she wouldn’t get mowed down as they were all making their way to the station and when she did her foot bumped into a homeless man’s backside. It startled her because she did not notice him lying there.

“Oops, excuse me I’m sorry. She said without thinking. She knew in her mind that she didn’t care. It was an awful thought, but it had come from years of living in New York and becoming immune to the homeless people where ever they were among the streets of the city or subways or buildings. She hated that she thought that way, but she knew why. It wasn’t what was in her heart. In her heart, she ached for the plight of the homeless and their hunger and for what they have to go through day to day, minute by minute never really knowing where they would end up at the end of the day and what is the end of the day for a homeless person? Too much thinking, she thought to herself and then she smiled at her herself in spite of herself.

The homeless man did not respond to Sheri accidentally kicking him with her foot. He just kind grunted to himself very softly and rolled over further into the corner that he was already in.

Sheri carefully backed away from him while he was rolling himself into the corner and while she was doing this, she felt someone put their hand on her shoulder. She jumped!

“Excuse me miss. Do you have some change so that I can buy a cup of coffee?”

It was another homeless person, this time. It was a woman. Her hair was a dark gray and white and matted to her head. Her clothes if you could call them that smelled horrible. It looked like she was wearing an old worn out poncho that walked itself here from Mexico. The colors were long since faded and she had an old beat up belt wrapped around a very skinny waist of the poncho that just barely held her and it together.

“Miss I don’t mean to bother you I just want a little change, dime, penny, whatever you can give so that I can buy a cup of coffee.”

Sheri had heard this sales pitch before from other homeless people, so her first instinct was just to ignore her. She knew that giving this woman a dime or a penny would not be enough money for her to get a cup of coffee in New York City. Why doesn’t she just come right out and ask for a dollar or even two dollars? Why not shoot for the moon and ask for five dollars. Sheri smiled nervously and reached into her purse and pulled out a dollar bill and put it into the homeless woman’s cup and nodded her head and smiled nervously again.

“Thank you miss and God bless you.”

“You’re welcome,” Sheri said as she turned away from her.

“Where the hell is he?” She whispered softly to herself or at least she thought she whispered it.

“Where is who miss?” The homeless woman said.

Sheri thought that the homeless woman had walked away from her once she had given her the money.

“Who you looking for Ms. can I help you?”

Still surprised that the woman was still standing there, Sheri shook her and said: “no thank you.”

“Sheri how do you know that I can not help you, after all, you just helped me.”

Astonished Sheri jerked head around and faced the woman.

“What did you just call me?”

The homeless woman smiled. “Sheri is that not your name?

Sheri could not believe what she thought she was hearing. Perhaps the earthquake, the sudden change in the weather or maybe because the night before she was out partying with her friends until 4 a.m. maybe that’s why she thought she heard this homeless woman calling her by her name.

“Did you just call my name?”

“Sheri yes that’s right that’s who you are!”

Sheri looked all around her. The Port Authority station was hustling and bustling with thousands of commuters and passers-by and homeless people, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary except for the fact that this homeless woman that she had never seen in her life was calling her by name. A million thoughts ran through her head. None of them she thought made any sense, but she felt she had to believe or come up with something. Phillip perhaps had paid this woman to come over to her to freak her out as a joke. Yeah, that’s possible. She thought to herself but where the hell is he? I don’t see him she thought to herself again.

“He is here Sheri, and you must go to him now.”

Sheri swung around. “What the hell are you doing to me?”

The homeless woman smiled at her and said. “I am helping you, Sheri. The friend that you seek is standing by the bowling lanes. Go to him now but make haste to him and listen to all that he has to say and believe all that he tells you for time is short with him.”

Sheri still could not believe what she was hearing if she was right this homeless woman was reading her thoughts, but this could not be possible could it? She was afraid to think it. What if?

The homeless woman interrupted her thoughts.

“Time is of the essence here.” The homeless woman said.
“What if I take you back to a night when you lay sleeping, there were spiders, every spider that crawls upon the land, crawling all over your body and each and every snake that slithers and slides on the land was slithering and sliding all over your body. It was your biggest fear you awoke frantically, and your eyes saw a light and in that light, you saw a figure beside you kneeling on your bed, that figures hands clasped in prayer. That figure acted like it was not supposed to be seen but before the figure disappeared, it smiled and winked at you. You sat up in your bed confused but not afraid to go back to sleep. Your fear of spiders and snakes no longer exist since that night. You never told anyone how you overcame that fear and never told anyone about that figure even though you knew what it was. I am that figure.

A wave of fear, happiness and joy ran through Sheri’s entire body. It was like when a runner hit’s the wall. Then gets that feeling of exhilaration of when the body goes from hot to cold to pure energy. She felt like she stopped breathing. When breath returned into her body, she was able to look beyond what was a figure of a homeless woman standing in front of her. Instead, she saw a light, pure light in this woman’s face. There were no more doubts no more fear just tears.

The homeless woman reached into the pocket of her filthy dirty clothes and pulled out a clean, pure white handkerchief that was bathed in light and put it on Sheri’s face and wiped the tears from her eyes.

Sheri buried her face so deep into the handkerchief that she was able to touch the homeless woman’s hand, and she rested her face in it until her tears stopped falling.

“What do you need for me to do?” Sheri asked, still with her face lying in the homeless woman’s hands.

The homeless woman lifted up Sheri’s head.

“The person you see before you now is very sick. She will need your friend Phillip. At this moment, he stands by the bowling lanes. He is lost, confused, full of doubt for his task at hand. His heart speaks but his mind has to see. Go to him now and bring him here. Go!”

She spoke the last words “Go” with a sense of urgency that made Sheri’s body jerk away from the homeless woman.

“I’ll go get him right now. Don’t move. Stay right here. Don’t go anywhere.” She felt like a woman possessed desperate even saying all this to her. “Don’t move!” but this was a life-affirming moment for her. The woman that kneeled on her bed that night praying for her, her angel! She was there with her again. Now! And she didn’t want to let her go.

Sheri ran around the corner down the hall passed the many stores in the Port Authority. She knew exactly where the bowling lanes were. Sheri had never been in the bowling lanes, but her many trips and stops through the Port Authority had allowed her to pass by the bowling lanes. The last time she had passed by she noticed that they had closed it. “Closed for renovations,” the sign said. She remembers thinking to herself many times that it looked like it needed a make-over and perhaps that if it looked more inviting after the renovation that maybe she and Phillip would stop in and bowl a few games. As she rounded the corner to the Bowling lanes, she spotted Phillip immediately. He was just standing there in front of the bowling lanes.

“Phillip!” She shouted as she ran to him.

He didn’t even acknowledge her.

“Phillip!” She said again as she stood in front of him.

“Phillip it’s so good to see you. You would not believe… Well, I need for you to come with me.”

She grabbed his arm, and he jumped. After he had got over being startled, he reached out and pulled Sheri to him and hugged her.

“Sheri I’m so glad that you found me..I—I am so lost. His words were stammering. “I mean I’m not lost here. I know how to get around The Port Authority, I just.

Sheri interrupted him.

“Phillip I need for you to come with me now!”

Phillip pulled away from her embrace. “What! Go with you? You have no idea what is happening to me. Frankly, I’m not sure what is happening to me.”

Sheri gave him a quick smile and looked at what she thought was a new light or shadow of light on his entire face.

“Phillip whatever is going on with you, you’re lost you said. I need for you to come with me quickly. I think I have someone who can help you find whatever it is you might need.”

She didn’t wait for him to respond. That jerk that she felt when the homeless woman told her to “GO” hit her again and she grabbed Phillips arm and pulled and started running with him. Once again running passed the people, corners, and the stores.

Sheri did not stop until she saw some people gathered around, screaming and yelling for help where she had left the homeless woman. Pushing through the crowd with Phillip still in tow, she realized why the people were screaming and yelling, there lying on the red cold tile floor was the homeless woman. There was blood streaming from her mouth, and her head was cocked to the right side of the tip of her shoulder causing the blood to run down her already filthy dirty clothes.

“I don’t think she’s breathing.” Someone said.

“Anyone know C.P.R.?” A man nicely dressed in a business suit yelled.

No one responded. The man knew C.P.R. himself, but as badly as he felt for the homeless woman lying there on the floor, there was no way he thought to himself that he was going to administer C.P.R. on her. “I might catch something, get sick myself. I don’t need that!”

He felt sorry for thinking theses thoughts, but he knew that he was not alone in his thinking. He was aware that everyone in the crowd standing around looking at the sick, homeless woman lying on the floor bleeding from her mouth was thinking the same thing. It was best that they just wait for emergency services to get there and help her.

Sheri immediately knelt down beside the homeless woman and then she looked over at Phillip, who was still standing with the crowd of people who were surrounding the homeless woman. She got up and grabbed his arm and pulled him into the circle with her. “Phillip do something!” She shouted.

He didn’t look at her. Instead, he started talking to himself or at least to Sheri and everyone standing around them he appeared to be talking to himself.

“Phillip, what’s the matter with you? Stop acting like you’re crazy, pull yourself together and help her damn it she’s dying!” Phillip stopped moving his lips and just stood still over the homeless woman.

(Phillip’s conversation with Jurist: No voice.)

“Phillip, what doth thine eyes see before thee?”

“Jurist you know what I see, or rather I see what you see. It is all so confusing. And stop always sounding so cryptic. It’s a homeless woman dying.” Phillip said.

“Phillip thou rememberest’ the woman lying on the street? You saw her after you left your daily journey. I was with thee then.”

“Yes,” Phillip said.

Doth thou also remember what thou felt and what thou knew to be truly happening to the woman lying in the street?”

Phillip hesitated. He knew what Jurist was getting at.

“Yes!” He said. And but I don’t feel that now.”

“You also did not see then because thine eyes were not open yet! Behold now and see.”

Phillip lifted up his eyes and what he beheld caused him to gasp, within the circle of people gathered standing around the homeless woman was a band of angels. The colors that surrounded them were so brilliant so bright. He felt that it should have blinded him, even sent him running and hiding. The angels were praying. They were hovering just above her, hovering and praying. Then as if by instinct, he yelled out.

“She can still breathe the air on earth!”

Everyone else in the crowd looked at him as if he had three heads.

“Another crazy in New York City!” Someone shouted out.

“You do not feel her passing through thee yet. If thou art to do anything for her, the time is at hand”. Jurist said to Phillip.

Phillip still standing over the woman with a dazed, crazy look all over his face, at least to Sheri and the crowd standing around him. He bent down over the homeless woman, then he held his head up and looked directly into his friends Sheri’s eyes, smiled at her, then he did something that made the entire crowd of people whispers, gag, and gasp. Phillip opened the homeless woman’s mouth and put his mouth to hers blood and all, and started breathing into her mouth. He wasn’t administering CPR, he just kept his mouth to hers and kept blowing air through his nose, out through his mouth into her mouth.

The crowds of people were mortified and disgusted.

“What the hell does he think he is doing?” A man in the navy blue business suit yelled out.

A couple of people starting retching in disgust, some were yelling out things like come on man what are you doing? Why don’t you wait until the paramedics get here! Several people yelled out that he was going to catch something, but Phillip just continued with what he was doing.

Sheri didn’t respond either way. She just looked on at her friend. Sheri had been Phillips friends for a very long time knew him inside and out and in all the time that she had known him, he would have never done anything like this, helping a homeless woman, getting this close to one as to put his mouth on her bloody lip. No, she knew that something bigger than he was, was afoot here, bigger than anyone standing around retching, gagging and being disgusted, A lot bigger. So she held on, trusted like never before. She whispered- “That’s it, Phillip! Please, that’s it!”

“Coming through!” – A voice boomed through from outside the crowd that had gathered.

“Please, we need for everyone to step aside, clear the area so that the medical techs can see to the emergency.” It was a couple of cops from the NYPD with three emergency medical techs in tow. The crowd slowly and reluctantly parted to allow the police and the emergency team in because no matter how repulsed the crowd was they just could not leave, so everyone remained transfixed upon what Phillip was doing.

The emergency medical techs were about to spring into action when they saw Phillip appearing to give the woman CPR. They asked him and Sheri who remained kneeling down beside the homeless woman to please step aside so that they could see to the patient.

“He’s helping her please let him finish what he’s doing!” Pleaded Sheri. “Just let him be!” She continued.

“That’s what we are here for. Now please step aside so that we can give her the proper medical attention that she needs.”

Sheri still did not move, and Phillip just continued breathing air into the homeless woman’s mouth appearing completely oblivious to the fact that anyone but he and the sick, homeless woman were the only two people there.

One of the medical techs’s motioned to the cops to remove Sheri and Phillip so that they could get to work. The NY city cops before putting their hands on them asked them to please move along. Sheri was seeing the seriousness in their eye’s reluctantly let go of the homeless woman’s hand and stood up and took two tiny steps backward. Phillip still did not respond. The two cops repeated themselves again this time even more urgent demanding that he stop whatever he was doing to “help” and to let the emergency medical technicians do their job, still Phillip kept at what he was doing.

“Enough of this!” One of the cops said and as he was about to pull Phillip away from the sick, homeless woman’s when all of a sudden Phillip stopped breathing into the homeless lady’s mouth. He looked up at the police officer, not acknowledging him but rather just looking passed him, straight through him. Then Phillip lifted up his hands, they had blood on them, not just stained blood but the blood was dripping from his hands. The on-lookers all gasped. The Policeman backed away for fear of getting blood on himself thinking that he might contract something from the blood.

The medical techs who already had gloves on were about to help, but then Phillip put both hands bleeding very gently onto the sick, homeless woman’s face the blood it flowed from his hands into her eyes, nose, and her mouth even into her ear’s. It was like the blood was being absorbed by her.

There were screams and cries from the crowd and the two cops and the medical tech’s were stuck, frozen they couldn’t move, did not know how to respond to what they were seeing, to what was happening.

Phillip then removed his hands from the sick, homeless woman’s face and when there was no more blood to be absorbed, Phillip lifted up his hands which were no longer bleeding, they were clean no blood stains, nothing! Phillip smiled and then all of sudden the sick, homeless woman who had stopped breathing when she fell to the ground let out a breath so loudly and so strong, that all who stood around her could hear. She sprang up from the floor, sitting straight up, she smiled, even glistened and then she spoke.

“I am new!” She said.

“What the hell!” Both the cop and one of the emergency medical techs said in unison

The Gift – Chapter 7

David spread out his wings as though he was trying to reach out to the four corners of the earth, when the wing expanse could go no further, he slowly retracted them back. Then he put his hands out in front of him and clapped them as if to summon the will but no sound came from his hands. He clapped them again and still yet no sound came from them.

“It is unto the father that Raphael descends and descendeth unto thee not shall he,” Justafa said.

David continued to retract his wings taking care that each was properly in place. Then he closed his eyes and spoke.

“This I know my dear brother Justafa. Wisdom runs strong among our kind, yet an interpretation of thought and request is always upon us all. It falleth upon the humans in our charge as well. And yet thou riseth up unto me now! Why hast thou appeared unto me?”

“Tis the silence it is deafening and it reacheth out to all. The semblance of time is also stretched out upon all that is and all that will be. It has not been since the father first spoke love into existence.” Shalt it be as it was or shall it be created anew?”

David opened his eyes and gently glided over to Justafa, and he held out his hands. Justafa put his hand to greet David, and they clasped them together, and he sang unto him theses words:
Shalt the fruit of the land be whiffed up by the sea?
Never more said he.
Shalt the skies be lighted with fire and brimstone?
No, but to the dominion of light and beauty shalt they remain.
Oh but unto all created by the Will, it shalt create in and shalt
Forever be it is the blessing from thee.

And when he finished singing these words the heavens began to rumble it was the sound of angels in waiting praising the will for the song of creation.

Justafa like all the angels loved and understood the song of creation. The covenant was given by the Will, being the speaker of one the voice of all, the praise should have been heard and felt throughout not only were the angels in waiting to respond but Angel and all Angel alike. However, Justafa praised but without feeling. It was more response than feeling and David felt this from him.

It is not thy thoughts that I read before thou speaketh David it is what is and has become of the merge. So ask not unto me why praise was not given unto the song of creation for there still is much tarridness that persists within the commonality.

David released his hands from Justafa and appeared to study Justafas face as if he was looking at it for the first time. He looked at his full lips, which were kissed and had been kissed by the Father. The full freshness of his face that had seen countless beginnings of life and yet remained interred. He looked into his eyes, the fiery brilliance in them which allowed him to see from dominion to dominion given to angel and angel alike. Then David looked beyond his eyes beyond the fiery brilliance in them, and the longer he looked, the more silent the commonality became.

Justafa sighed with a sense of complete serenity and peace.

“Thank you,” Justafa said.

“Tis but a moment given to thee yet it shall send a calmness upon the commonality enough to sustain the tarridness. The thanks should be given to the Will and was’t granted to me to be given. Use the moment wisely among the commonality. Now go and be with and unto before the moment given is but a passing set upon the wind and cast out into the shadows of time.

Justafa looked directly into David’s eyes and placed a kiss upon his lips, and as he was about to raise his wings and depart, he felt a force pulling him. A force so powerful that it meant at least he thought, that he was being called upon by the Father. He lay his head back in preparation to be called unto the Father, and then he felt this presence that is not common among immortals, and it shook it at him and his whole spirit and as incredible as this new presence was, Justafa new that it was not to be felt among his kind. He fought to pull himself back and away from this feeling but he could not. His body began to jerk and convulse and he shook with the fierceness of a mighty wind and everything in him told him to fly away, to run, but he could not release himself from this presence.

Raphael suddenly appeared and flew swiftly unto Justafa for he knew what was about to overtake him. Raphael also knew that within moments it would be felt throughout the commonality, and this was never meant to be, and he also knew that this was more fall-out from the merge it had to be for no angel was ever suppose to feel “fear.” They knew of it, had seen it in the humans that they had watched over, but fear was not an emotion ever to be cast upon angels.

Angels were born out of the Father to see all that is to be seen to touch what was untouched, to fly beyond heights known and unknown to touch a hand and to never let it fall and of all of theses love is and forever is the conqueror. Fear was here now, and it was not to be.

David stood as guardian and said nothing for he knew that Raphael had been pulled by the Father earlier and that upon his release, his mission was given, so he stood fast in prayer unto the Father until all was to be done.

Raphael lovingly wrapped his hands around Justafa. Then he spread out his wings to the full expanse, and he then connected his eyes to Justafa’s because angels are meant to look into the eyes of “fear” to see its lie, its untruth. Raphael stared directly into it Justafa’s eyes and as he did a gold ring circled both of them. It began to grow larger and then a sound emanated from it like the chiming of a great bell. The ringing grew louder as the golden circle got bigger around them. Then golden circled erupted into a loud explosion of the bell causing the particles of the golden ring to rain down upon the earth.

Raphael released Justafa from his embrace, and Justafa stood fast, and a tear of gold fell from his eye and he smiled and shook himself and said.

“Raphael tis upon thy quickness we stand. The commonality has not been disturbed.”

“Yet it shaketh loose all in it’s path, and now much tarridiness is upon Musio, and all in his charge below for what has happened above is now seen by the humans as havoc below,” David said as he moved in closer to Raphael and Justafa.

Raphael spoke:

“Think not thyself of this now for the Fathers will be done.”

David and Justafa moved amongst themselves as if they were inspecting their surroundings and as they were doing so, Torcelli suddenly appeared unto them. She did not shimmer in, she just appeared.

“I knoweth not why I hath appeared here,” Torcelli said. Twas not my destination. I was in the land that the humans hath named Africa in attendance to the human named animal the Cheetah. This “cheetah” was being stalked and chased by the “Zebra”, and as I stepped into the Zebra’s path, the Zebra passed through my being, and here I stand with thee and thou.

David and Justafa turned from Torcelli and looked at Raphael as if waiting for a response from him. It was a response that each of them already knew. They just needed to hear it from Raphael as if it would take the sting out of what they already knew if he spoke it aloud.

“Twas foretold since the beginning.” He spoke. “All is to be unto the merge of Jurist and the human now. Shalt it not be divided, what seeketh upon the earth now shalt be sought. All of us angel and angel alike are unto the prophecy. Go forth, lest it not be fulfilled, make haste, or all will remain standing, lost in nothingness.”

Not a word was said after this. The four angels turned one to the west, one to the east, one to the south and one to the north and they flew off at the same time. And as they flew away, a sound harder and mightier than any thunder that had ever erupted was heard. It shook everything above and below.

“Eyes that press upon this sight seeth what is not to be known, lest it expect too much. It is in the walk of the time that shall free the merge. Is this not to be so Raphael?”

“It is the question thou asketh upon the soul of thy being. Unto thee I asketh thee to bring forth light.”

“Thou asketh for light! It is the light that is created upon us all.”

“Then thou knowest the answer to the merge?”

“Thou speaketh to me my brother as a child.

David laughed in the middle of his sentence and continued.

“But Raphael thou sitteth here with me now. Tis a moment given to us by the Father. I request a….”

Raphael interrupted.

“I hear thy thoughts. It is my choice to do so and upon this thought, I grant thee these words. – Shalt the mountains be created, each one to its own time and the rivers rise unto countless waves to settle here. I beseech thee unto the Father, surround this space and time.”

“Thou calleth upon the souls of the ages spirited away,” David said with amazement.

Raphael responded: “It is given to me to do so and unto thy thought it is given but speaketh unto them with swift haste. It is the quickening that will spirit them back. Asketh unto them to seek to find.”

Then from the words that Raphael spoke formed the question to David’s thoughts.

The first soul spoke:

“Thou seekest to remove us from the quickening. It is not yet the appointed time for this.”

The other soul spoke:

Yea’ unto the Raphael and David I speaketh to thee from Dominion to everlasting. Why hast thou released us from the quickening? Thou knowest what thou doeth?”

The third soul spoke:

“Shalt these voices be quickened unto them and thee. Dear brothers, we have been summoned upon the merge. It consumes the balance. Hold thy tongues dear souls. Lest we speaketh unto Raphael and David our time will become shadows set upon them.”

Raphael began to speak.

“Dear souls bring unto us thy peace for unto thee love is given one-hundred fold. We only seeketh thy presence in this time, for thou art worlds gone by in human comprehension. Give unto us thy wisdom at this moment.”

The third soul spoke:

“It is holy. It is without form seen before yet it groweth upon the land. In essence, it is what was created child-like and given unto hands created into and unto them.”

The first soul spoke:

“But created out of nothingness, its flight shalt descend upon thee and be sought unto each and every will and found upon every heart the paths to be taken.”

The three souls speak in unison:

“Ahh yes! And unto the mountains, they will cry out unto thee. By two brought together by one and summoned unto the father all shalt be revealed unto the gift which has brought all back to the beginning.”
David and Raphael leapt to their feet and ran towards each other and embraced because their spirits were touched by the quickenings words. They began to pray and give thanks for the wisdom and even though the wisdom was spoken unto them, the answer to their query was spread throughout the commonality. And then as quickly as they had appeared the souls were spirited back to the quickening.

“The earth it moves not in unison with the quickening but turbulence.”

“Musio!” David said in surprise.

David was surprised because Musio always arrived in the shape of a mighty whirlwind and always in grand style before taking his natural form as an angel.

“What say you dear brother Musio?” Raphael asked.

“Thou hast put the angels in my charge upon much tarriance as to shield the humans below upon thy request of the quickening.”

“Ah, the quickening! To sustain them thou hast seized the storms and tides upon the earth?”

“Yes, and as the earth shaketh below it creat’eth treachery in its path.”

“Then it is upon thee and the angels in thy charge to bend as souls in the wind.”

Musio laughed and said:

“It is nothing that has to be solved unto the angels in my charge but to shield them not. It is now upon the entire earth that nature runs amok and the humans below tarry to, and fro for fear is upon them now.”

David flew close unto Raphael and answered to Musio.

“Musio thou speaketh but knoweth thou not! All is to be done upon the will of the father. Humans that tarry below are now upon the charge of all that is created from the beginning. Knoweth thou this, below are the workings of not just the quickening but the merge and what is to befall even unto us all.”

Musio responds: “And yet unto thy request the quickening was given and though we allow rivers to rise and the earth to shaketh and the winds to blow and the waters to fall as to set the balance once the quickening is open. It has now become a task untold due to the merge. How much longer can we continue to shield the humans? This season of change is not foretold.”

Raphael ran his fingers through his beautiful gold flaxen hair, more bemused not amazed by what Musio had said and then he spoke.

“Musio get thee to thy task and upon the leaves that falleth upon the earth, each one counteth it in multiples of seventy time seven billion. This is the equivalent to your question upon the humans on earth upon the balance that is upon thee and thy charge to return.”

Raphael then stood quietly and looked deeply into Musio’s eyes and Musio stared back and smiled and then in an instant Raphael disappeared as one single feather fell from his wings and as it fell Musio reached out to grab it and he held it tightly in his hand.

“He has been called back unto the Father,” David said.

“And unto the Father returneth he,” Musio responded. “And until the Will returneth I.”

As Musio was about to spin out into his grand glory and style, David was staring off into the distance and then he began to speak.

“I see the depart but as I watch thee leave it is pressed upon my thoughts and unto the tides set upon the earth to the wind that bloweth across the skies, I can only seek prayer as a finite answer to all that is about to come unto thee and those in thy charge.”

Musio stopped his mighty whirlwind of a leave and spoke.

“This is why thy stare’th off into the distance? Thy concern for me and those in my charge. It is set upon thy heart and is why thou art who thou art and in thy charge are we. But knoweth thou this, what nature had been created out of humans from generation to generation since the beginning, all that is set upon the earth created by humans, what they call weather, is quickly set upon in my charge.”

“Up for the challenge art thou my dear brother Musio? Then be on thy way but go with this prayer. Come close unto me as we did before and pray it with me.”

Musio drew near unto David and put his hand in his, and as their bodies floated, they both expanded their wings, and as their bodies clung close to each other, David began this prayer as Musio joined in.

Thou lift’eth us up and upon thy hand shall we never fall.
Unto thee Father all request are given
and to thee all is known
Fore-told upon thy beginning love was first sought
love continues until and still is
For thou art
And will ever be
And we shall ever remain in thee.

Musio lay his head upon David’s chest, and they embraced.

“Thanks, Dear brother,” Musio said.

“Thanks be to thee,” David responded.

And without another word Musio sped off in his mighty whirlwind.

—————————————————————–

Phillip sat straight up on his cold bathroom floor. “Oh my God!” He thought to himself. “What just happened to me?”

He stood up very slowly, holding his head he ran his fingers through his hair, looked at himself in the mirror, and he saw two images. He looked away from the mirror. He looked to his left, nothing there. He looked back into the mirror again, and the other image was still there.

“Jurist!” Phillip said with a look of – Please don’t answer on his face.

“Yes, Phillip.” Jurist responded.

“God! I was hoping. No, I was praying that you were a dream. Perhaps I am hallucinating.”

He closed his eyes and shook his head and looked again.

“Ah Damn!!! What is happening to me?”

“It is true. I am here with thee. It is the trust in thy heart that brings me to thine eyes.”

“Why me? Why are you coming to me? Why are you bothering me?”

“Phillip thou knowest why. We share a common goal and in it, we must succeed.”

“But who am I to you? I don’t know you. Just leave me alone. Get out of my head!”

Phillip put both hands to his ears to stop hearing what was being said to him.

“It is in the journey that we take together that all shall be revealed. Come, curb the denial of what is. Now the time is close at hand. Remove thy hands from thine head.

“No! No!!!”

Phillip turned off the light switch and ran from the bathroom and ran into his living room screaming.

“I am not listening to this! I can not and I will not accept this!”

Standing in the middle of his living room, Phillip came face to face with his reflection again because there hanging on the mantle was the beautiful gold encrusted picture mirror given to him by his mom when he moved into his apartment. And right there, standing beside him in the mirror was the image he was hoping and trying so hard not to see, Jurist.

“Why dost thou run? Thou can not hide from what is with thee. I beseech thee our time is at hand and waste it not I beg of thee.”

Phillip in his confusion and rage picked up a small glass candy dish. He threw it as hard as he could at the mirror and as it began to shatter into a million little pieces onto the floor, one long shard of glass remained and in it Phillip could still see himself and the other image that he was trying so hard to escape.

“Accept it now or all will become as sand fallen upon the shore, dry and barren in we and thee.”

Phillip just fell to his knees crying and shaking.

“You ask me to accept that you are here with me. I am a human being! You are asking me to accept something that goes beyond what I know as fact. What I have read about, fantasy, myth…If I believe this..”

Jurist interrupted him.

“Then thou openeth the door to possibilities for truth and understanding. Intelligence is forthcoming, but wisdom is everlasting.”

“Then I am to believe that you are an angel. Those angels actually exist and that what, you have come to me to what, to give me the secrets of the universe! I am privy to this information!!!”

And then Phillip burst out laughing.

“Me! Little insignificant office worker, $62,000.00 a year me! Occasional pot-smoker and alcohol drinker me!!!”

Phillip just continued to laugh hysterically and out of control until tears fell from his eyes. He got to his knees and sat on his butt, legs totally out-stretched and put his hands on his stomach and continued to laugh straight from his gut.

“Yeah, that’s right me! I am the choice to know the secrets of the universe! Yeah that’s a good one.”

“Thy laughter it is contagious. Yet, what means of escapism for thee is indeed tickling me. It is a feeling of comfort for a moment of what is into our hands.”

“I’m glad that you are enjoying it!” Phillip said sarcastically. “So go on tell me.”

“Tell thee what?”

“The secrets of the universe of course. Oh, but wait I need to get a pen and a piece of paper so that I can write it down.”

“Pen and paper are not necessary at this juncture, but all will be reported in time by thee.”

“Oh really!” Phillip said as he began looking frantically for pen and paper.

“Let’s not waste any time. Let me write it all down now.”

“Fascinating that thou speaketh of wasting time for this is what we are short on.”

“We! What do you mean we? Trust me I have nothing to do with you being here. I did not ask for you to come here. So give me the secrets of the universe and you can be on your way. And where exactly are you anyway? Why can I hear you but only see your reflection in a mirror?”

“I am in thee Phillip.”

“In me!! What do you mean that you are in me?”

“I have merged with thee.”

“Merged with me! What is that suppose to mean?

“Merged..” Jurist replied but before he could finish his sentence, Phillip interrupts.

“When an angel merges with a human in extreme emergencies and upon the call of the Fathers will…”

“What!” Phillip said. “How do I know that?”

“Thou knowest because of the merge. As I said, we share a commonality now. I am with thee Phillip inside thyself.”

“Then get the hell out of me!”

“When all is complete, then the merge will be done, and I will free us from me and thee.”

When what is complete? And why do I have a feeling that part of what you say about releasing us is easier said than done?”

“Lest we move swiftly Phillip what thou sayeth may surely come to pass. I need for thee to accept without question. Just as thou prayeth to the Father and yet have never seen but yet still believe exist, believe now in the existence of angels. I am here in thee, and I bring thee a gift and accept it not, it is not an option.”

Phillip walked back into his bathroom flipped the light switch and bravely looked into the mirror and saw his reflection, and he looked at the other reflection which was Jurist looking back at him. This time, he did not look away nor did he blink his eyes. This time, he did not flinch and then he spoke.

“I am a human being. And by all accounts, all that is happening to me could mean that I am going crazy, or perhaps I have a brain tumor. I don’t know. One thing’s for sure, if what you’re telling me or what you’re asking me to believe, it would take more than just mere belief. And yes I do pray or rather I have prayed. I don’t recall the last time I did, but that’s something I did a lot of as a child. I did it in a church. I did it in school until they stopped it but I just pray! It’s kind of in me I guess. Whether I think that someone is listening or not well..”

He couldn’t finish that thought.

“But what you’re asking me to do now requires faith, and I’ve never known that.”

“Which to thee my dear Phillip is to believe and to trust. It is what I ask of thee and the gift must be understood.”

“The gift! Do you have a gift for me?”

“The gift it must be delivered. I bring it to you so that you may understand.”

“But why me?”

“Phillip why not thee!”

Phillip said nothing he just remained still staring into the mirror, staring passed the glass. The thoughts in his head were all jumbled up. He felt that most of his thoughts were not his. His senses seemed heightened as he looked beyond his image and the image of Jurist. He felt as though he could see the world for the first time as it was meant to be seen, And then his mind seemed to turn back to his own thoughts, his own will and then he began to speak.

“If I am to accept all that you are telling me to believe, to trust, to be open, then what will become of me?”

“You will be.” – Jurist whispered.

“That’s it?” – Phillip asked.

“I will be! I will be what?’

“It is unto you to be. For in you, there shall be. For in me you will become.”

Phillip shook his head and laughed.

“ I don’t know exactly what that is supposed to mean, but I will trust that you know.” He said. Then he sighed heavily.

“Okay then let’s get this show or whatever it is on the road.”

“Then thine eyes are open Phillip. It is this trust that I must tell thee that that time is short upon us now to deliver “The Gift” is at hand. So lift’eth up your voice shall we must, before the next nightfall cometh.”

“Sure whatever you say.”

Phillip said as he turned away from the mirror and walked into the living room. He walked over to his sofa and sat down on the arm of the couch and shook his head and thought to himself this is un-real. He even pinched himself in hopes that he was dreaming.

“Thou art human Phillip so protect thy thoughts well for what is thine is no longer binding with thee. Tis not a dream. Please no longer pick thyself all is at hand and upon thee and me.”

“I know, I know! I just thought that I would take a chance, and you mean to tell me that I can’t even think to myself anymore. Damn you are not making this easy. What do we have to do to with this gift thing that you keep talking about? I want you out of me the sooner, the better.

“What is in thine heart, Phillip? Now request’eth with thy soul to follow thy path to free the gift.”

Phillip laughed. Jurist, you say things like I am supposed to understand you like I am supposed to go run out and save the world or something. I need you to go slow with me here. I’ve never been good at saving the world. That is what we’re trying to do here right?

“Upon the gift all shall be protected upon thee, and all that come within thy path.”

“How do we begin?

“We hath already begun Phillip. Whatever thou doeth next it must be done with swift haste for every season there is something left unfound and every moment there is an hour left behind.”

Phillip got up off the arm of the sofa and walked over to the hall closet opened it up, reached inside and pulled out his camera. He wasn’t exactly sure why he did. It was more of an impulse than anything. He reached back in and pulled out his blue jean jacket put it on and then he slipped his camera inside his coat pocket.

“I can hear you inside my head, practically throughout my entire body. I’m not sure that’s possible, but seems that I’m finding out that anything is possible, but do I have to continue talking back to you out loud? I mean I am going to be on the streets of New York, and while it’s not an oddity to see someone in New York having a conversation with themselves, I ‘m sorry that just doesn’t work for me. It would be just my luck that I would get picked up and hauled off to the insane ward at Bellevue Hospital.”

“In the whisper of the wind is where the soul dwelleth. In it, all truth can be sought all questions answered. Thou share’th all with me now, and we shall inherit forever.”

Phillip smiled and still speaking out loud said. “I’ll take that as a yes!”

“Tis a yes Phillip. So we travel as messengers in spirit with the gift. Its tidings shall be Herald and in it, will show you who you are.

Phillip felt a sudden pang of anxiety and dread like he had never felt before right in the pit of his stomach. It was so strong that it pushed him out the door. He glanced at his watch and knowing that he had less than four minutes to catch the bus to New York he felt himself not just sprinting to grab the bus but moving like a gazelle. It felt like he didn’t have any legs. It felt as though he was flying through the air and before he knew it he was at the bus stop watching it come down the street to its stop. As he boarded the bus into the city, he reached into his pocket and called his best friend Sheri and left her a message detailing the time that the bus would arrive in the city at “The Port Authority” and for her to meet him there straight away.

The Gift – Chapter 5

MaleAngel

Torcelli’s light continued to shine, as the wolf continued to howl. Torcelli stood frozen for the first time. The sound of the wolf’s howling was puzzling. Wolf’s always howled at Angels in waiting. The light called upon them to do so. It was what kept the balance of seeking and finding and yet, Torcelli still frozen knew that the seeking was not upon the wolf but upon the sheep and in this awareness the wolf moved into the light that is Torcelli and leaped into her arms not for comfort but for fear. Torcelli knew this and calling upon the will as angels in waiting know of Torcelli set the wolf upon the souls already spirited beyond, figuring that in doing this, it would be the lesser to restore what was left of the balance until the mergence of the human and Jurist was un-done.

“Tis a season in time set upon thee Torcelli. Was’t thy choice for the greater or, the lesser?”

Torcelli turned around to see David.

“David thou knowest it is not upon me but the will. It was’t given unto me and to all, together the lesser shalt become unto the beginning. Should not the greater be sought?”

David looked upwards and pointed his index finger to the east.

“It is where it began. It is where it shall have no ending. Perhaps what thou hath done is for the greater and upon it, the east and then David lifted his other hand and pointed his index finger to the west. “Shall it be met with…”

And then the light in the sky rose, and David continued:

“It is in this light that all shall in-sue. It is the light that shall remain the greater. It is always what is to be met.”

Torcelli spoke, “It chaseth all that is upon it..doth it not!”

“It doth.” David continued. “Thou knowest this.”

Torcelli responded. “Then gift upon gift floweth through humankind why now?”

David put his hand on Torcelli’s shoulders and ran his fingers through Torcelli’s golden brown hair.

“This question it has been through the commonality. I bless thee for thy humanity as it weakens the commonality it strengthens the Will. The question that thou asketh thou knowest. Persist it not but be gone unto thy work, for the time remains upon us all. It is what we know. It is what the humankind suspect.”

“David.” Torcelli spoke: “Dost thou see’th  which way I go’eth for with the mergence I see not.”

“Then close thine eyes and be led and trust in all and trust in one.”

Torcelli closed her eyes, and as her wings enveloped her body, David continued to speak.

“Let wisdom also be thy guide.”

David levitated himself up higher, wings at full expansion acutely aware of the fact that Torcelli had disappeared and that she did not shimmer as it is unto angels in waiting to do.

David clasped his hands and closed his eyes and said:

“I separate not myself from thee. I knoweth of the time, that it is in the passing for each hour of time that passeth through us, it is given back ten fold.”

“Thou whisper’eth into the wind it is heard.”

It was a voice, not a figure, yet it was familiar to David.

“Raphael I know that my words were meant to be heard. It is why I speaketh unto the wind to detail.”

“It is done.” The voice said.

“So let it be done,” David responded.

“I must be losing my mind he thought to himself. Where the hell am I?” He knew that it didn’t look like he was in his apartment. There appeared to be clouds and mist all around him and he couldn’t figure out what if anything he was standing on. He felt remnants of days gone by and he wasn’t sure why he felt that or what it meant.

Phillip noticed a light to the left of him appearing to open up in the mist. He thought to himself – “I must be dead!” He didn’t feel led to walk into the light that appeared before him. He had heard stories of people with near death experiences and how they were led to walk into the light, yet there was no compulsion for him to do so, but he figured what the hell.

“Well, here I go.” He said allowed as if he expected someone to hear him.

“Where doth thou go’eth?” A voice said.

He responded without even questioning the voice that spoke to him.

“Into the light.”

“For thee to return unto the light thou must be spirited away. It is in the quickening of the souls and not in thine own will. The light is not set upon thee yet. Stand fast Phillip!”

Phillip thought to himself – “Boy have I done it now! No light! Then I must be going to hell!”

“Then where am I to go?” He asked.

The voice laughed.

“Clear thy thoughts. Was’t not the finite of thy mind, with it increaseth a vision of things not known to mortal minds but implanted there find this; Awake the mind of your soul. For I say again to thee, it is planted there and in the offering, all shall be revealed.

Phillip stood still deep in thought for a moment and in that brief moment he allowed himself to breathe, just breathe and one thought kept repeating — “It is set upon you to receive.”

And the voice replied to his thought.

“I have come for you to see what it is that I am. For it is I am that you know.”

“Jurist!!! Your name is Jurist! But how do I know your name and who are you?”

“Wisdom has come to thee and the time now is upon us both.”

Phillip Shouts.

“I need to see who it is the whose name that I somehow know and what are you? Show yourself to me!”

“Shalt the mortals in thought provoked, be only carried on wings to gather there, to only toucheth that which they already know!”

“What?” Phillip said.

“I speaketh so that you may under-standeth. Listen not only to the words but follow their path and unto thee, all will be made known. Thou knowest that my name is Jurist. This is already made wise unto thee. Now set upon thyself a whisper, set inside thy heart and answer it unto thine own spirit and see who it is that I am.”

“Your speech it should sound strange to me yet you speak and I understand every word that you say but you also speak in a language of thought and expression…”

Jurist interrupted.

“And yet unto every word a light!. It becomes wisdom unto thee already spoken.”

“I am not dead. I am in my bathroom. I passed out didn’t I!!”

Phillip didn’t wait for an answer he knew and felt that it was true.

Jurist spoke: It is unlike this that ye do not know. For everything I say ye will know it to be so. Everything shall be as if ye didn’t know but like your very soul set it free, for it doth know upon the foundation that is you.”

Phillip breathed in deeply as he put his hand to his chin:

“We are one! You made me feel. You are the special good feelings, that extra step in my walk. The reason why I saw..” He hesitated. “The reason why I know… Jurist an angel, the speaker of one the voice of all.”

The Gift Chapter 4

images (6)

David lifted up his hands to summon the “nature bearer” and said “As if nature to be found all around it toucheth me. Return to me angel over all land and sea.”

And in an instant, a whirlwind tunnel began to form and in it appeared dirt, water an ear and a nose and as the wind tunnel got bigger a great light appeared and then with winged feathers outstretched, stood the angel “Musio.”

“Into thy hands, I descend unto thee. What dost thou request my dear brother David?”

“The balance of nature is upon thee and all that are in thy charge, what say thee?”

“It is upon this hour of the humans that those in my charge continue to do the will. It is certain that balance will flourish until it is met with the continuance of the merge. It will be lessened by the quickening of the souls already spirited beyond.”

“Behold thy words dear brother Musio. Speak not of this it is not at this hour that the souls beyond the humans comprehension be brought unto thy watch. It shall be the Fathers will.”

David raised his hands and said – “To nature be gone” As to send Musio back to the will.

Musio spoke – “before thou biddest me back unto the will, I beseech thee to give unto me a prayer. For it still calls forth to me to be one unto all.”

David flew close unto Musio and stretched out his hands to meet Musio’s waist and wrapped his arms around him and they both spread out their wings fully showing the brilliance of light emanating from them.

David whispered into Musio’s ear:

“This prayer you know. Say it with me but say it quickly so that you may spread the love throughout.”

They prayed these words.
“We seek to find an answer in the father.
He seeketh to give unto us all that he is,
only love.
We pray for all to know,
For furthered by love, we know what we know.
We pray unto the Father
For love can only know.”

——————————–
“Who are you!” Phillip asked out loud to himself into the mirror while standing in his bathroom.

“Thou asketh what thou already knoweth!”

Phillip looked deeper into the mirror as if to ignore the thought that came into his head or at least he hoped that it was only a thought, and yet he thought it had to have come from him.

He dismissed it for the moment. He continued to look at his reflection in the mirror. He looked deeper into his eyes and yet he felt like he wasn’t looking back at just himself. He felt like he was looking beyond but beyond what he thought.

“Thou Knowest!”

He thought to himself again and yet again it wasn’t just his thought, and once again he dismissed it.

He looked at his nose, his mouth he even reached up to feel his ears.

“I am me!” – He thought to himself. Now that’s my thought.

“And yet we share a singularity a commonality.”

Phillip felt this thought pushing through his brain. He looked around his bathroom, shook his head and then faced the mirror again, blinked his eyes real hard a few times and then shook his head again hoping that if he did this, it would shake whatever in his head that was out of place back into place.

“Phillip!”

He continued to look into the mirror and says. “everything is all right. I am perfectly fine!”

He smiled, and as he was starting to feel a little better about himself, he turned away from the mirror. As he turned his body away from the mirror to leave the bathroom, he turned around to give the mirror just one more glance and his eyes saw a flash of light coming from within his eyes. He blinked his eyes a few times to try to get rid of it, but it stayed. He thought that he was going blind or perhaps going mad because then he heard a voice coming from within himself—

“The light is upon us now. Understand the voice within.”

Phillip began to fall to the floor, and as his head was about to hit the cold hard bathroom floor, David flew close unto him to soften the fall and to cradle his head.

David lifted his angelic head skyward and spoke softly— “It hath begun.”Then he lay Phillip’s head gently down on the bathroom floor and in an instant he vanished.

The Gift Chapter 3

“Silence it softens the earth but the earth like human-kind will shaketh again, and rebirth shall create again.”

Justafa replied back to David – “Is this is what is to befall of the test given this time?”

David replied: “I remind thee, ask not of the will, but let it be done!”

Justafa nodded, “this I understand, but now that thou hast appointed me speaker of them all, it is upon me to respond as one. It has become as a sound of the pussy-willows tossing back and forth upon the wind that bloweth to and fro. It is not the commonality of peace and serenity.”

David replied: “It is because thou art not yet known to thy new position, thy load will lessen with the passing.”

“I feel this not to come to pass. There is a great congestion amongst the commonality and even if I was not in a position of newness the tarriance would still be felt.”

David did not speak for a moment. He knew that what “Justafa” sensed and said was true. For being and angel set upon by God in high regard did not set him higher among the other angels. He still sensed what was and is the commonality of all yet; he was a leader, and he could not allow the bond to be broken.

“Thus, the thought of division is upon the commonality and upon it you shall continue to build the will of the Father, upon this, I speaketh it to you and let it be felt throughout Justafa. Now until the will be gone.”

Justafa looked directly into David’s eyes as he spoke these words and nodded his head and said – “I am wise to thee and unto thy words I depart with love for thee and love is once again delivered among the commonality.” Justafa spread his wings and then enveloped himself into them and then he was gone.

David shed a tear and prayed: “It is the love that contains us all. The end and the everlasting and the beginning shall all be revealed and set us upon the fruits of thy will forever—Amen.”

————–

While at work Phillip felt his workday end as soon as it had begun. He couldn’t recall a day when he felt like this at work. Usually, his work days seem to go on forever, especially the morning, that had always been the worse part of his workday just getting through the morning.

Phillip worked at a multidisciplinary medical practice, specializing in physical therapy, chiropractic medicine, holistic and traditional medicine meaning that there was always a medical doctor and a physician’s assistant on board. So it was a very busy practice, and Phillip worked in the billing department as one of the accounts managers, dealing with insurance companies and working directly with some patients to discuss any questions or matters of concerns regarding their insurance billing. He would never leave his office feeling very fulfilled. It was just a job. It paid the bills, and he knew his business, and he could be a terror on the phone dealing with insurance companies, and he knew when and how to schmooze a patient and insurance carrier to bring his accounts up to date.

It was different today. It seemed that everyone that he talked to or had an encounter with in the office was like a newness that he had never felt. It was like child’s play. He likened it to when he was a kid playing outside with his friends on a Saturday morning, and you knew that you had the whole weekend ahead of you and school seemed millions of miles away.

He hadn’t felt like this in quiet, some time and after all, it had been some time since he had been a child and yet here he was this day feeling like a child. It amazed him. It went beyond amazement. The feeling was heavenly!!! Phillip thought to himself now that was a word that he hadn’t used or thought of in a long time.

Everyone in the office noticed Phillip’s new demeanor at work today, and he knew that too. He just smiled and finished his day with a gusto that made him know that the work day held more than just a paycheck.

“What are your plans for the weekend?” Kim asked him.

“I will probably catch a movie with my friends and then probably go out dancing and enjoy a walk in the sun.”

“A walk in the sun!” Kim replied in surprise.

“Yes haven’t you ever just needed a walk in the brightest, most brilliant wonders of nature that not only shines in the day but also illuminates the night…”

“Illuminates the night!” Kim spun all the way around in her chair and looked at Phillip. “What are you on today?”

“Just high on life, I guess,” Phillip replied. And then thought to himself, high on life! What am I saying!

“Whatever!” Kim said sarcastically. “Have a good weekend.”

Phillip nodded his head and said, “Thanks, you too.”

Phillip walked out the door, and when he got to the elevator banks, he thought to himself – what in the world were those words coming out of my mouth. – “Illuminate the night!” He giggled to himself. Whatever he thought! He just chalked it up to his just feeling so good inside.

He got onto the elevator smiling and of course he still didn’t know why he was smiling. He looked around at the other humans on the elevator and knowing and wondering both at the same time about where they were going and what they were feeling and why they were feeling. It was like he knew them all and yet he didn’t know how he could know this. And he also wondered why for that instance he thought of them as humans and not just as people like himself.

As he exited the elevator, he felt this overwhelming need to tell each and every person on the elevator to have a beautiful and wonderful weekend and even though he thought that they would have looked at him as though he were a nut for a moment that didn’t concern him. He just felt this overwhelming need to love and comfort them.

“I need a drink!” He thought to himself as he walked out the revolving door out onto the busy streets of the city.

————————-

Lest ye wait longer the day will not create anew, fly away on I say to thee and be reborn. Torcelli looked on as the lion that she reached for to comfort had been led on into the circle to be created again.

Torcelli blinked on to the next animal in her charge and in her shimmer, David passed through her.

“It has begun has it not?” Torcelli spoke to David.

“Ripples they continue to become. It is how we pass between me and thee in your shimmer to your next charge. Fear not to question. The time is close at hand, continue on thy way for the Father’s work is still to be done.” David replied. And in a flash, Torcelli stood between a wolf and a lamb.

Torcelli waved her hand to the sheep, to show him the way back to his flock and his master. And as the wolf became blinded by the bright light that was emanating from Torcelli, he lifted up his head to the sky and let out a howl, and the wolf continued to howl into the cold dark night.

——————–

As Phillip was about to cross the street to go downtown to get a drink at his favorite local bar, he heard someone scream and as he turned to look around he saw a lot of people gathering and others pushing to see what was happening. He cautiously walked over and looked and asked someone what was going on. Someone yelled out “I think that she is having a heart attack!”

He heard people yelling out someone call 911! Other people screaming does anyone know CPR! As the others watched while this woman lay on the concrete pulling at her chest, Phillip ran to her side, took off his blazer, and put it under her already blood stained head which had apparently happened when she fell while grabbing at her chest. Phillip
was on his knee’s reassuring her that everything would be alright. In the distance, Phillip heard what sounded like a barrage of sirens which in a city like New York was not uncommon but in this case he hoped that it was coming to aid this woman.

As he continued to kneel there comforting the woman, all of a sudden everything became silent around him. He watched as the emergency medical technicians got out of the ambulance with their medical equipment and ran over to the woman, he quickly turned around and watched the crowd continue to gather, but he still didn’t hear a sound. He did, however, hear the woman breathing, and as her breathing started to become shallow and shallower he heard it come to a full stop!

Then he heard or at least he thought he heard her heart, and it was rhythmic. Not only could he hear it, he felt as if it was passing through him. He felt himself breath and then all of a sudden all the noise and combustion and sounds that were going on around him came back into his ears and as if by instinct he said, “The air here on earth is no longer breathable for her!”

The medical tech’s continued administering CPR and injecting needles into her veins and Phillip repeated but louder, “The air here on earth is no longer breathable for her!”

No one seemed to hear him or to care what he was saying. After all, it was New York, and they probably thought that he was just another “nut” in the Big Apple.

“Sir thank you for your assistance, but we have to get her into the ambulance now.” One of the medical techs said to him.

They hoisted the woman up onto the stretcher, lifted it up, put her in the ambulance and with lights blaring and sirens blasting, they sped away. As the crowd began to disperse and go on about these separate lives, Phillip felt himself stand up, and he could not believe what he had been a part of and knew! And he wondered to himself – What does it mean: “The air here on earth is no longer breathable!” Deep down in his heart and his mind he knew! He just didn’t know exactly how that he knew.

Phillip managed to carry his exhausted body to the edge of the sidewalk and put his hand up and out. He was able to get a taxi quickly which was surprising it was still around rush hour.

He got in, closed the door and told the cabbie that he was going to New Jersey, Montclair NJ he said. The cabbie gave him the usual speech about the fare and toll and Phillip just nodded his head and reached into his wallet and just handed him $55.00 without even thinking, something that he would never do under ordinary circumstances but these were not ordinary circumstances.

“Please…just drive!” Phillip said to the cabbie.

The ride home left Phillip in a haze. Thoughts raced through his head, and he chose not to stay inside his head for fear of taking up residency there. Instead, he chose to hear all the sounds around him. He heard the radio, other cars and trucks zooming by, car horns beeping and blowing, the road underneath bumping and skidding ever so slightly and then he began to allow thoughts to come back into his head. He heard the cabbies voice say:

“7 Roosevelt Place, this is it.”

Phillip thanked the cabbie, opened the car door, and walked up to his apartment building. He unlocked the door to his building and walked down the hall to his apartment, put his key into the door, opened it, and walked in and closed it behind him. He then went directly into the bathroom, turned on the light, and stood there looking at himself in the mirror.

The Gift Chapter 2

“The will of the one will affect the commonality of the few.”

Justafa spoke this to David.

“Thou art now the speaker of them all does this now reign true among them all?”

Justafa spoke: “It doth. It is the thought that the humankind might become infected should “Jurist” be merged too long.”

“Speak not of this, for the will has become his and given the wisdom to one by the Father, has been the wisdom given to all.”

“Go forth Justafa and do the Fathers will for now wisdom shalt be the guiding light for Jurist and I pray that like humankind that Jurist is found in that wisdom.”

David circled the earth carefully placing his feathers to the sun as to create the illusion of what humankind calls fog.

You see when an angel in high command fly’s down to earth it is known by the Father, and the Father must guide them, for they are open to the most horrible of evil, for they are chosen to BE by the Father.

Only under the cloak of illusion of what humankind calls fog can they not be detected by evil when descending upon the earth.

It is not upon this asking that David needed this cloak, but David needed to see Jurist in mergence with the human Phillip.

He knew that it was forbidden to communicate with Jurist during this merge, but he just had to see the human to see. He could not finish his thought. He just had to see.

David appeared in Phillips bedroom and as he watched this mortal he sensed the duality in him lying there sleeping at peace as night draws mortals into a memory they know but can’t even imagine accepting, so they call them dreams.

Being careful not to linger too long David spoke not a word as he looked on at his friend dwelling inside this mortal Phillip, knowing that they together held the fate of time and free will. Jurist because he chose such a task and should he not disembark from the human within 72 of their hours what calamity would befall upon the earth. Then the human because what he will feel upon the unauthorized merging with an angel. Would he not want to let go of the bliss that life from within him should feel like as humans say “like he could touch the sky.”

As David’s cloak of what humankind call fog began to lift, he knew that it was time for him to take his leave. David prayed silently into the dawn for his friend and the human known as Phillip then he raised his wings in front of his face and vanished into a ray of light as the sun began to rise.

Phillip awoke to the light of morning with a huge smile on his face. He wasn’t sure why he felt so happy, but it was a feeling of comfort in his life, and it felt like it came from deep inside his soul. He had never felt such contentment, but he just went with it.

He got dressed for work and still kept smiling. He didn’t hate his job, but he never felt so good about getting ready for work before and it wasn’t even nowhere near pay day.

Phillip left his apartment still feeling amazingly happy. He stepped out into the early morning May sun and as he walked to the bus stop he found himself noticing every bit of earth and nature and the beauty of it all around him like he had never seen or thought to see before. Phillip was so amazed that he had never had such a sense of awareness of nature. It made him feel like he was reaching out to the world and it was smiling back at him.

He could not entirely ingest why he was feeling this way. It was so overwhelmingly beautiful to him that it made him ache inside and yet he could and would allow himself to feel. He passed by a tree, and as the leaves brushed across his forehead, he felt an overwhelming need to reach up and touch, to feel the leaves, to communicate back the feeling of goodness that the leaves had given him.

When the bus pulled up, he stepped inside. He looked around at all the people sitting as he continued to smile he wondered two things to himself. The first thing was if the people on the bus thought that he was nuts because of the big smile on his face and second if they only knew how wonderful he felt inside? He just wished that he could share this sense, this comfortably yet overwhelming feeling of living with everyone sitting on that bus.

The Gift

972219451466b0b3d2cc7ea583740181Chapter 1

It is upon the light that I fix my thoughts so that you may understand all that has to come to pass.

Raphael the angel that sitteth beside God can only know what God knows by asking him. In being a supreme being an immortal, Raphael understands that being and becoming is the will of God and he shall never judge a mortal. It is God’s will and never his.

Raphael flew down to earth in the blink of an eye, taking care not to touch it, for if he touches the earth, it will cause the seasons to change. Angels are forbidden to touch the earth only in extreme cases when another angel has touched it accidentally and on God’s authority to restore balance, shall it be touched and only by Raphael.

Earth time and God’s time is different and equal but never the same. Angels don’t travel in time they travel through the light. It is incomprehensible to mortal minds.

Raphael summoned the angel David unto him. “It is given unto you to start this beginning and to me, you shall report your thoughts. Glance not to the stars but whisper only to the wind and I shall report it to God. God, who knows, but I shall detail.”

David nodded to Raphael. “All will be done for humankind will know only what they see. Shall I create it to be seen or shall I create it to be felt?”
Raphael reached out his hand to David and touched his. David stood still to accept. “I understand it now. You give it to me to be felt, so shalt I give it to humankind.”

“Make this known throughout,” Raphael said as he lifted his hands and his beautiful white feathered wings spread out he was lifted up and then was gone.

“I see thee part, and I know what it is to be a test!!! Shall humankind understand? I know not, but I shall question not it is the Will. The human-kind they stretch out to all, but when shall their time pass?”

David clapped his hands, and if as in an instant from the four corners of the earth came angels by the trillions. It was if an army had rained down in the middle of the earth. One angel spoke it was “Jurist” who is the speaker of one, the voice of all. “We have been summoned, and we come, who is left to protect humankind and animal kind alike?”

David spoke: “Thou art wise yet thou knowest nothing. Understand my thoughts and ye shall be even wiser. God is forever present, and Raphael is the door. Ye have been summoned to partake all of thee. Guardian angels, angels of nature, angels over death, angels of animals, angels of human time and angels in waiting. All of you shall hear. The time of test is once again upon humankind, and in it shall in-sue such among humankind that all of you shall be put to test as well, based upon how your work will be done, for God’s will shall be done.”

Jurist spoke: “You speak so that we know, yet we do not understand.”

David said to them: “I ask you to hold out your hands and receive what I know so that I shalt give to you to understand.”

All hands from angel to angel held out to receive, and all were made to understand. And the wisdom of the test was given to Angel and angel alike. Then as soon as they had appeared they were gone. All away to deliver.

Jurist stayed.

David asked, “Why do you stay nearby?”

Jurist said, “I speak for all, and I sense in all for the first time since God spoke us into being. I sense in them a question the question is why?”

David said, “Jurist then you must speak to them. It is not a question they know from God. Be sure that it will not go unnoticed by him.”

Jurist spoke to David, “I am for sure that they know of this. I know it, and all is known to one and all. That is why the concern is there among one and them all. We know God’s will be done. And yet the question is still upon them with this test. Why? We know each time that all is to be revealed but this test it questions even the fabric of our being.”

“It is the fabric,” David spoke. But put into “will” we are all bound by God to follow for his love sustains us all. That is the fabric of our being. Without it, we cease to exist.”

Jurist did not speak with his mouth, this time; he chose to speak his mind to David. “It is a thought, yet I must share it with you.”

David responded with his voice. “In doing so with your mind, you know that you risk communing your thoughts with human kind take care what you say.”

Jurist continued communicating with his mind. “I know this. I share this thought very carefully as not to speak it. My thought to you is why?”

David responded, “I answer you not with my mind but with the lips and mouth given to me by God. Go forth Jurist now as the others have done and make it so and know that God’s love is! Should not the humankind understand then God is all knowing? It is not a question.”

Jurist was about to raise his hands and his wings and disappear. David stopped him and held him and said: “My brother, my love, my friend, your love of humankind is duly noted and protect them wisely and nourish them as you have done in God’s time and all will be revealed as it has been.”

Jurist’s eyes lifted up as he shed a single tear. Jurist spoke. “Thou art my brother and we are angels sent by God. We fly to the hands of mortals that know of us but do not see us, yet they feel us this is why I feel for them.”

“I know this.” David said, and God’s will be done.”

“Done shall it be.” Jurist said.

David released his embrace on him and in an instant he was gone.
“I call upon the angels in waiting to ascend. Send to me one who lies in wait, for to remove thee from God’s bidding I seek not to do. Send to me one who is without.”

Jurist turned and in front of him stood an angel in waiting, Torcelli.

“It is I who is without. I attend to thee. What doest thou need of me?”

“I speaketh to thee only for thou to hear. I release thee of the test to be given to humankind. I shall replace thee. Go forth and be free and becom’est a guide to animals and all its kind.”

“I question thee, not Jurist,” Torcelli spoke softly. But I can read thy thoughts. Though they are good, they are not of the Father.”

Torcelli being an angel in waiting meant that she was always meant to wait for orders to be given to her. Although angels in waiting have as much free will given to all angels by God, angels in waiting once called had to follow any and all orders without question. For they were imprinted by God to be and to become.

“Seek not to understand my thoughts but go forth and guide and I shall fly to thee to oversee that you think of what I do. Make not a sound of this, only assume your assignment with the care given to thee by God.”

“I trust in thee Jurist,” Torcelli said as she shimmered into the light as all angels in waiting were taught to do. Only angels in waiting were able to shimmer into light. It was a special gift given to them only by God. When humankind looks into the sky and beholds what they perceive as stars twinkling in and out what they are observing are angels in waiting going forth and shimmering in and out of light to do the will of God.
Jurist reluctant to deliver the gift flew down to earth careful not to land on it. He spread out his wings in mid-air and observed the angels at work changing and moving among humankind.

Jurist thought to himself. “It is the humankind that shall live for ever. They do not know of the way. Lest it comes without a test they will never understand but this one test it might come to pass, who shall intercede for them? Truly God in all his wisdom and great love has a plan within. This I know. God always does. This test I understand it not and why it consumes me. I must obey my God. I trust that God will trust my passion for what I do.”

“I whisper into the ear of this human. Hear me as I push my thoughts to you.”

As soon as Jurist spoke these words David appeared feathered wings stretched out completely and covering Jurist.

David spoke: “My friend, I knew that your passion for the love of humankind would interfere with your following the will of the Father, before you finish speaking those words, know the cataclysmic chain of events that you could put into motion. Thou art about to merge with a human art thou not?”

Jurist spoke. “Yes, these are the words I speaketh.”

David spoke again, “God sees all this you know.”

“Yes, but there is free will here, and I invoke it now as a right given to us by God. It is not my plan to show discord.”
“Then upon your words my friend do not fail, for to accept thine own will is only to open the door to evil.”

Jurist turned and flew closer to David.

“It is not my will to do so. It is my passion the love that is within, that I will give to the humankind that I shall merge with, upon the test to be given to me. I accept it.”

David spoke once again as he lifted his wings to the sky. “Accept it not I plead to thee, but seek thy way back, since thine own will be done, I pray thee do it quick and release the human in 72 of their hours, or you will not know what will be-fall you.”

David spoke this hour of time because, he knew that an angel merges with a human in extreme emergencies and upon the call of the Fathers will, and the merge had never gone beyond 72 hours of human time. It was forbidden and not known what would happen beyond that time.

“I leave thee with thy truth to guide thee, but while contemplating thy will, I leave “Justafa” to speak for the angels in your absence.”

“Justafa come forth and take thy lead and answer unto me now! And Jurist fell unto the earth

The Perfect Imperfection of God

The longer I live on planet earth I wonder why we as a human race continue to exist? Life being so precious as we like to say, and yet we as humans take a life every second every minute of every day. Why the creator has not completely wiped us off the face of the earth, I’ll never know.

According to the Bible, God has tried it a few times but not completely and maybe that’s the problem. God even in his infinite wisdom by saving a few humans who appeared or who God considered upright and just, still gave birth to humans who still came out able to hurt and kill without even a thought of how killing another human is vile, repulsive, inconceivable, unconscionable and just wrong. Why would a human kill another human? How does the idea enter into the brain just as easy as it is to breathe?

Has God has left us? I ask this because I ask it. How else can we explain our existence other than to say that maybe God has left us to exist on our own? It’s not a question of God caring. I wonder God just decided “my mistake, I’ll let it be.” Has God moved forward, beyond what we can know or imagine, to create again?

The Creator moved on to improve on his creation, to make another image? It’s worth the ponderance. I do know this; we are a sad race of humans. Always afraid, fearful, not accepting, suspicious, judgemental, at first before we let our guard down. It takes centuries before we can look at another human and speak simple fundamental truths; two legs, two arms, two eyes, a nose, mouth, fingers, toes say you are a human just like me. The color of skin and hair may be different, the sexual organs may be different, but all these make us all basic human. The only thing that makes us different is our individual thought, to think, to reason but in that thought there must be basic and simple reasoning understanding. The understanding that no matter the thought, this is another human, notice I didn’t use the word the same.

We are not the same because if we were the same, oh my what a boring world it would be. My wish is that humans would stop being afraid all the time. We are not born afraid we are taught to be scared. Animals are born with instinctual qualities one might say abilities. They have these abilities because they are born in the wild, they need them to survive. We humans are not born in the wild nor are we raised in the wild. How very sad for us to continue to live this way since breath was given to us.
I’m not saying we are to be perfect, far from it but if we could just see another human as just that. Maybe a view of perfection would create a new and better world to live in and oh what a day, what a world that would be. Hello human, Hi human, welcome human, just human.
